Christmas in Cole Harbour

On Christmas Eve, I departed on the shuttle for Nova Scotia!  I arrived at the Pinsents around 4.  Haig was still at work so I hung out with his Family until he got home.  Funny thing, I tried to plan out what I should do when he arrived, but never ended coming up with anything.  He walked in the door while I was upstairs and I heard his mother say, "Yes Alyssa is here".  I was sad that I missed his facial expression at that moment.  I am sure it was priceless.  Christmas Eve was spent by going to the Live Nativity Pageant and then Haig and I watched It's a Wonderful Life.  Haig did not enjoy it too much, but he watched it.

Christmas Day I woke up around 8:30 because I knew we would not be opening gifts until Katherine and Eric were home.  All the kids has slept downstairs so once I woke up, I went down there with them.  I walked in the room and saw all the Pinsent Kiddies on the floor with items from their stockings all over the place.  I was unaware that I had a stocking until Granny found me downstairs without one.  Haig came out of his room and we opened our stockings together on account the Kids opened theirs around 4:30am.  After our stockings, Haig let me open my first gift.  I was very nervous because I knew this was the gift I could wear.  After much scarce, I opened it and it was love at First sight.
We then went to the Airport to pick up Katherine and Eric.  We had a lovely afternoon opening presents and relaxing after Christmas dinner.  I got some nice gifts from Haig's parents and Haig's gifts to me were the necklace, a bulid a Dog and.......

An Ipod touch.  I was a very happy girly.

Boxing day Sunday we all went to church.  Cole Harbour ward had their Christmas Musical Program and it was great.  Sunday night was Hannah's Baptism.  It was so nice to be around people that I love to celebrate this big step in Hannah's Life.  It reminded me of my own Baptismal Covenants and how I felt when I was baptized.  It was such a great feeling!

Monday, Haig worked most of the morning and afternoon.  But when he was off, I went and met him and we did some Boxing Day shopping.  Mic Mac Mall on Boxing Day=never again.  It wasnt even the fact that there were so many people there.  It was more of the fact that because there were so many people there, I was not in a shopping mood at all.  But I did end up with a new Winter Jacket, a pencil skirt, Soaps from Bath and Body works and My stuffed Build a Dog!  I named him Ralphie and Haig bought him a Collar and Leesh.

Tuesday Haig worked most of the Day again and I watched movies most of the Day.  When he got home we just relaxed and cuddled.  So cute we are.

Today, I came home.  I got on the shuttle around ten to seven.  My Family was on their way home from Moncton and we realized that I was not far behind them on the trip home.   So, instead of being on the shuttle from the bridge to Charlottetown, My family waited about 10 minutes for me at a gas station right after the bridge and I drove home with them.  Gotta love timing sometimes.  Today I spent the day running some errands with my sister and mother.  It has been a good day.

Tomorrow=Work all day
Friday=Work all day, then Haig.
I can do this.

I hope you all are enjoying your holiday as much as I am!

Those Christmas lights, keep shining on.

So, I am in love with this time of year.  We went to the Biggleys last night for a Christmas get together with some other friends from church and it was just lovely.  There was lots of food and good company.  I came home and made final preparations for my trip over to Haig's.  So here is the thing everyone, I am kind of tired of everyone saying how I wont be spending Christmas with my family this year and how sad that is..  Yeah it sucks, but that is how it worked out and I am very happy to be spending Christmas with Haig and his family.
Dad will be picking me up soon to go get on the shuttle.  Malcolm will not be going with me, so blog readers... I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and I will talk to you when I get home!

Well.... I am right now.

For the Girls

Today, Two of my best friends and I had our annual gift exchange.  This is us last year when we exchanged our gifts (oddly, I wore the same jeans today..).  Now these girls are just my favorite and I would like to thank them again for the cute thoughtful gifts that they got for me.  I simply adore them and I wish them are very Merry Christmas and best of luck in the new year :)

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

This past week has brought lots of fun adventures and lots of ups and downs.  But, with Christmas being so close, I have not been letting the downs get me too down.  So, good things of the week are as followed;

Tuesday was my day off.  I relaxed for the most part and it was great!  Tuesday night was also the Relief Society Christmas party.  I attended with my mother and I was asked to read Luke 2:1-20.  Read it up if you are feeling a lack of Christmas this year.  He is the reason for the season people.

Wednesday I worked from 1-6.  I love work, it is always a good time.  I also finished up some Christmas shopping Wednesday night with my mom.  Wednesday night Emily got home from UNB.  Casey, Dan, Scott and I all went over to catch up and hang out together.  It was nice to have just the five of us for old times sake but things are changing and things are not the way they use to be, but I am okay with that.  We made a McDicks Esso run and it reminded me of old times.

Thursday I worked from 12-5.  When I got home from work I was a mess but my sister greeted me at the door with a big bouquet of flowers.  Thank heaven for sisters.  Kayla and I have our bad days, but recently we have been having a lot of good days.  Mom asked me the other day if I really knew who my best friend is.  I replied my Future Husband, but corrected myself by saying my sister.  For right now, she is the best friend I could have.  I stayed in for the night and helped my family decorate our Christmas tree.  I have come to conclusion that our Christmas tree is a little tacky most years, but that is what makes it ours.  Yes I sort of just called my family tacky, but I guess that is just us sometimes!

Friday I worked from 12-5.  After work, I came home and got changed and then went to dinner with mom at Subway.  Chicken Bacon Ranch on Italian Herbs and Cheese, I love you.  After dinner and a trip to Sobeys and Canadian Tire, I went over to Emily's.  She had a little get together with some people and it was a fun night to say the least...

Saturday I worked from 10-5 on Reebok Cash.  Surprisingly it was not a busy day at all.  You would figure that the Saturday before Christmas would be quite busy, but people kind of forget about us because we are not right in town.  Which was fine with me!  For the last hour of work our boss told us some good stories so that had us all laughing and it ended off a good shift.  Right after work I headed over the the branch Christmas potluck.  I sat with Megan who is sweeter than the cheesecake that I ate for dessert.  She gave me a Christmas gift of  Hot Chocolate, Marshmallows and a candy cane.  So cute and thoughtful.  My potluck dinner was so yummy and I was so full by the end of the night.  It was a lovely feeling.

Sundays are my favorite.  Today at church we had our Christmas Musical Program.  I sang 5 times and I was so nervous to do the trio with Megan and Kayla but we did a pretty good job in my opinion (luckily no one could see my legs shaking behind the stand).  Tonight the YSA will be coming over for Family Home Evening and then we will be going caroling.

I am totally loving this time of year.  All the love, all the food, candy, music, lights and gifts.  I am also very grateful that with all of the stuff that has been going on, my focus for Christmas has still remained a lot on Christ and all that he has done for us.  This week I will be working and making final preparations for Christmas.  I am very excited to be spending Christmas with Haig and his Family.  As sad as I am to leave mine, I will have a blast.

Hope you are all having a great Christmas Season

To end a good day..

Today I worked all day (10-6).  It was actually pretty decent though and I got to be on cash on reebok which I like!  After mom picked me up, I made a stop at Old Navy to return something that I had bought on friday.  Don't you just hate when you get something that you think is going to be super cute and then you get it home and try it on with some of your other clothes and it just isnt right?  Yeah well that is what happened.  While mom did some grocery shopping, I headed over to the mall to look for a new jacket.  I am looking for a long peacoat with a hood.  There is a nice one at Suzy but I will wait until after Christmas for a better deal.  I did splurge at LaSensa though.  Merry Christmas to me :).  Now I am at home just munching, doing some laundry and watching the cartoon, How the Grinch stole Christmas.  I am loving life, it is great.

Booked my shuttle tickets today.  Going to Cole Harbour on the 24th, coming back on the 29th :)
Yay for monday being good!

Tree

Yes, I finally decorated the little tree that I cut down by myself.  I took some of Busy Bee Lauren's advice on my tree and make it creative.  So yes, my christmas tree does have a necklace on it and hair bows.  I am very happy with my little tree!  My weekend is going great and this just makes it so much better!

I love Kayla, she is the best :)

Snow+Baking=Christmas feeling

This week has been going wonderful.  Work has been good and I love this time of year to be able to catch up with people.  Tuesday I was off work all day then I went out to dinner at Swiss Chalet with my friends Jessica Ford and Casey Ford.  They are gems these girls.  I always enjoy hanging out with them.  Jess is hilarious and she always knows how to crack me up.. like her stories of wanting to steal a trippy Christmas tree from someones yard.  Last night I hung out with my Julie Boulie.  Julie was my Young Womens President before I went into Relief Society.  She is the greatest and I love her to death!  As for today, I am off to hang out with my lovely Miss Amanda Grinton, another person who I always have a good time with.  Currently I am watching an episode of One Tree Hill and making Peanut Butter Cookies for people at work (Hi Brodie).  I am so happy it is snowing right now too, makes it seem more and more like Christmas.   Have I mentioned how excited I am for December 25th?  Well I am! I hope you all have had a good week and a wonderful weekend ahead.  15 DAYS :)

Smile, it's christmas time

It is not everyday that you go and chop down a mini Christmas tree for your room.

But today, I did.

I was in a weird mood this afternoon and so this is what I did.  We had the Elders over for dinner and then my momma and I went to the church to watch the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional, which was as good as ever.  How happy I am to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and to have Christ in my life <3
Agenda this week; work as usual and hopefully finish all my Christmas preparations... well except for Christmas baking.  That I will be doing right up until Christmas hopefully.  Anyone got some good recipes for me?
Also this weekend, I dyed my hair... very exciting for me.  I just wanted to go darker, so I did and I am happy with it!

Have a wonderful week and be cheery!  It is Christmastime!

ps; currently listening to David Archuleta's Christmas album :)

busy time of the year...

With Christmas nearing, things have gotten pretty busy in my life.  Mostly I have been working, but other than that I have been attending church activities and hanging out with friends.  Work has been good this week and I got to speak french at work two times this week!  Guess a lot of french people maybe travel in the winter?  Wednesday night I went to an awesome night at the church.  I had Institute and then just chilled with the Young Women for a bit.  You know what else says Christmas?  Lots of food!  Wednesday was our last Institute class for this year so our lovely teacher brought us Pizza, Cookies and Chocolate.  In Young Womens they had chocolate cheesecake for Megan's birthday this past Sunday.  To say the least, I was so stuffed by the end of the night.  It was great though!  Last night I went to the church again because the YSA were baking cookies for the Pageant next weekend.  We had a really good time and we also rehearsed a song we want to sing for the musical program before Christmas.  After I went to watch Greys with Nora and Casey.  Today I am off work, so right now I am just relaxing and when mom gets home we will go out and run some errands.
I have been thinking about how busy this time of year gets.  The thought came to mind last night when I had just gotten in my bed and thought of all the stuff I did yesterday.  Then I realized something... I had not seen my dad all day.  He was already asleep so I did not go wake him, but I said a little prayer to comfort the both of us.  I also realized then that sometimes in life, we do need to slow down, take things one step at a time and focus on what matters most.  Especially this time of year, we need to focus on love.  We need to let people know how much they are really loved.  Christmas is about Christ, and he loves all of us.  So fellow blog readers, show some love this Christmas season.  If it is telling your parents that you love them, putting some money in a donation spot at the mall or simply smiling at someone...it can make all the difference.

The other night I scanned some old Photos on to the computer... they are the goodies

Have a great weekend guys, and don't forget to show some love!
