Birthday Weekend

I am 23! I celebrated my birthday on Friday with my wonderful husband. We both spent the day working our butts off. I am so proud of us. In the evening, we went to Brickhouse for dinner. I got the scallop dinner with yummy sticky rice, and Haig got the Brickhouse Burger which he enjoyed. After that, I had to go to superstore to deposit my tax return, happy birthday to me, so we bought a small chocolate cake there. It was delicious! After a bit of an argument on the way home, we snuggled for a very, very long time. It was awesome.

On the weekend we also went out disc golfing at Hillcrest Farm! The course was so gorgeous I was really impressed with the work that this family has done to put it together. Haig really enjoyed disc golf on his mission so we are both pretty happy that he will have a place to do it around here. I will not mind going with him at all. It was nice to watch him having so much fun, doing something that he really likes. We were also super blessed to have beautiful weather all weekend!

Kayla graduated from Holland College with her diploma in Journalism! Congratulations baby sister, you did it! I love you! I know there are some wonderful and exciting opportunities in store, especially since I have seen your confidence grow and I watch you as you continue to make connections with those around you.

Best of Luck with everything to come!

tourist for the day

The day after our reception was super great! We got to spend it with our family & Megan, so we loved it! It also helped that it was gorgeous and sunny outside. It is so nice to see that spring has finally sprung after what seemed like an endless winter. Katherine and Megan also stayed at the Delta, so we met up with everyone in the morning and took a walk around downtown Charlottetown. I don't hang out downtown very often, so it was nice to look around and browse into shops that I had never been in before. There are lots of treasures to be found! I loved spending time with everyone before they had to leave us. It was nice to be around Cecelia some more. She loves Haig so much! I wish we lived closer to be around her and momma & dadda. We did some more shopping with Katherine and Megan after Mom, Dad and the kids left for home. We took them to the North River Causeway. We bought Cecelia the classic "Anne of Green Stables" cows shirt. I had such a great day. We headed to my house in the evening to open up our reception cards and gifts. Everyone was so thoughtful. We appreciate the generosity we received, the kind and sweet words and the time that everyone took to be there with us on a very special weekend!

It all came together!

Weeks and days leading up to our wedding reception, I kept telling Haig and other close friends that I felt like I had no decorations for the hall. I was pretty nervous because I didn't know where everything would go. I had lots of signs and little pieces of home decor that I wanted to incorporate I just didn't know how it was all going to look once we got there are set things up. I was so nervous that it was going to look like I stuck a bunch of things in the room and that it would look really silly. I didn't really feel like I wanted the reception to have a "theme", but if it did, I think the "theme" would have to be cute! I had some great helpers on Thursday night with lights and garlands, and also SO MUCH help from Megan and Heather on Friday morning. You girls were my super ladies! Everything came together so perfectly. I loved how the Milton Hall looked.

My husband was also a great help. I love you for helping me make tissue paper flowers.

Milton

Later in the evening at our reception, Katherine took some more pictures of us outside of the Milton Community Hall.
